25th International Shock Interaction Symposium

1 - 4 July 2024, Delft, The Netherlands

Update 27 June 2024:

Welcome

Welcome to the 25th Shock Interaction Symposium (SIS 2024) to be held at TU Delft in the Netherlands July 1-4, 2024.

The symposium is organized by the Aerodynamics Group at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of TU Delft.

The objective of the symposium is to offer a platform for researchers and academicians to disseminate their knowledge in the area of shock interactions and shock reflections and to share and discuss with the younger generation.

Topics

The symposium solicits contributions in the domain of high speed compressible flows, with the most recent developments from both experimental and numerical techniques.

The main topics encompass:

  • Shock wave diffraction

  • Shock wave – boundary layer interaction

  • Shock wave – shear layer interaction

  • Shock wave – vortex interaction

  • Shock wave – bubble interaction

  • Shock wave – contact surface interaction

  • Shock wave – structure interaction

  • Shock wave interaction with dusty/granular/porous media

  • Shock wave propagation in condensed and heterogeneous materials

  • Richtmeyer - Meshkov instability

  • Shock wave focusing

  • Shock wave diffraction over bodies or obstacles

  • Shock waves in MHD flows

  • Dynamics of explosion, blast waves and detonations

  • Shock waves in high-enthalpy flows

  • High speed flow diagnostics (experimental and/or computational)

  • Shock wave reflections and refractions on interfaces

  • Shock waves in rarefied flows

It is highly encouraged to submit contributions about ongoing research (work in progress), as well as so-called failed investigations.
